INCOMPLETE AUTOCAD HAS NO CHANCE AT PROBUILD

The basketball players of AutoCAD Amazone didn’t have a chance (88-60) at ProBuild Lions, one of the teams who is aiming for a top two ranking. The first two teams will gain a ticket for the Final Four in December. Coach Jan Poels had in Landsmeer an incomplete selection. Guards Marloes Renskers and Francis Donders were injured, Heather Zurich could not play after a surgery at her broken nose. Amber Jackson just made the game after an ankle injury and scores without any practice another double double, 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Maaike van de Bovenkamp was the best shooters with 17 points, Charlotte Kromhout (10) and Sigrid van der Toorn (10) also scores double figures. Three quarters Amazone was able to give Lions competition, but Amazone gave away to much space to the three point shot of Landsmeer and ProBuild used the possibilities very well. The last quarter the difference rose to almost thirty points. Amazone got sloppier and also Amber Jackson seemed of flesh and blood after a week without practice and ended clearly without any fuel. This Saturday STOL Grasshoppers will visit De Weide Wereld (game time 8.30 pm), maybe coach Jan Poels will have more than two substitutes.

ProBuild Lions - AutoCAD Amazone 88-60 (20-22, 48-33, 63-45)

ProBuild starts convincing. The first four offenses ends in a score, two with a three point hit of Kati Haly, 10-2. Sigrid van der Toorn helps Amazone with score, after her three point hit Amber Jackson scores quickly. Lions misses two open lay-ups after steals, 10-11. Molly McDowell scores another three for Lions, 13-11, but Jackson is unstoppable. Maaike van de Bovenkamp ends the quarter with a three point hit for Amazone, 20-22. The second quarter Amazone can’t stop the shooters from Lions. Haty, Ilana Vergunst, Marijn Nyendorff (3) and in between McDowell don’t miss behind the arc. Lions sprint away to 44-28 and halfway the game it’s 48-33.

The third quarter there is a good balance between the teams. Jackson does not score for one whole quarter for the first time. A whole week of not practising leaves some marks, 63-45. The fourth quarter the energy from Amazone is floating away slowly. The team gives away too much rebounds and the number of bad passes is increasing. Lions gains points at the free throw line and McDowell hits the eleventh three point hit for Lions. Kiki Geelen and Charlotte Kromhout hit a late three for Amazone.

Scores Amazone: Maaike van de Bovenkamp 17 (6 rebs, 8 assists), Amber Jackson 16 (18 rebs), Sigrid van der Toorn 10, Charlotte Kromhout 10, Britt Lansaat 4, Kiki Gelen 3.
